![]() The rear heel pad is replaceable, which is something that is much appreciated. ![]() For the sole, you get the 10’s 80% composite/20% carbon sole, but Time adds a carbon fiber plate at the cleat to increase stiffness. The closure is a single Boa IP1 dial at the top with a velcro strap at the bottom. The 12 benefits from the same upper as the 15, a seamless upper made from a mix of microfiber and multiple panels of mesh to make them extremely breathable. Sitting in the middle of the line, the 12 is definitely a blend of the 10 and 15. The 12 Time uses a 80% composite/20% carbon sole with a carbon plate on the OSMOS 12 From there, Time worked with their R&D teams to create the new line. The Italian brand makes ski boots, among other items, and had a wealth of data on foot shapes to help create the lasts for the OSMOS. When Time began working on shoes again, they turned to the experience of their parent company Rossignol. #Time osmos 15 road cycling shoes fullThe soles range from an 80% composite/20% carbon mix on the 10 to a full carbon sole on the 15 and all three models include a version of Time’s Sensor2 insoles. Each shoe features at least one Boa IP1 dial for the closure (one on the 10 and 12, and two on the 15). The look of each shoe is pretty similar, with the 12 and 15 gaining large mesh panels to increase ventilation substantially. The OSMOS comes in three levels, the entry 10, mid-level 12, and range topping 15. OSMOS Line Overview There is plenty of ventilation with all of the mesh on the OSMOS 12. We’ve put the mid-level shoe, the 12, through a season of riding, and found it to be a capable shoe with great ventilation. With three different levels, they have a shoe to fit the needs of many different road riders. Very airy, they are limited to when it’s hot.Time stepped back into the shoe world after nine years with the launch of their OSMOS road line earlier in 2019. The good comfort makes them possible to use on long distances. The Time Osmos 15 are good high-performance carbon shoes. ![]() In terms of durability, after using for many months, we didn’t see any weak points. Powerful adjustment so be careful not to overdo it. ![]() The two discs can be easily grasped, even with gloves on. The Boa system handling is as usual very practical and efficient. When the temperature drops sharply, you must either cover them with a bootie or use a different pair because they are too cold. With all their ventilation, the Time Osmos 15 are ideal for outings in a hot weather. The Time Osmos 15 design is successful, yet we can’t help but notice the tongue’s two notches: not very pretty. Pay attention to the instep area, because despite the fact that they have a comfortable tongue, the Boa system cable can cause a pressure point on top of the foot if you tighten it too much (ankle fold).Īnother point, they make a slight noise, they squeak (the tongue junction?) Like ski touring boots, which make a little noise when in full effort and it’s quite annoying. We tested these shoes with Time Xpro 10 pedals, what a treat!ĭuring long outings, we didn’t notice any friction or heat rubbing at the heels or forefoot. There’s no doubt that all the cyclist’s energy is transmitted through the pedals. The output is very good, both pushing and pulling. So you have a lightweight shoe, 175g without the cleats in size 42.5, 185 grams with the cleats. They’ve done a great job with carbon fiber. Let’s move on to the Time Osmos 15’s major highlight: its sole. We have also had easier shoes to put on that open wider, like the Scott Road RC. In short, you need to reposition the heels of your socks so you don’t have any extra thickness. ![]() The quid pro? When you put them on your socks don’t slip inside the shoes and their heels are held by the non-slip fabric. The heel is well pinched using a flexible and non-slip fabric, the heel remains firmly held when pedaling. The metatarsal zone is limited and the overall foot envelopment is very good. We were able to test them for a long time out on the road, on long routes but also on single-speed bikes where sole rigidity and the notion of “pulling” are fundamental.Ĭontrary to what we have read on some blogs, these shoes are narrow, especially around the forefoot (very snug fitting). The Time Osmos 15, at 300 euros, is the top-end model from the brand that owns the Rossignol group.
